Unlike the Kayano which is plush and innovative, the asics Gel Phoenix 2 is stripped-down and basic. This new value shoe doesn't have the forefoot Gel and memory-foam interior accents of its higher-priced cousins, but the forefoot is absolutely soft and comfortable, resulting in a cushioned ride. A highly recommended trainer, this shoe works wonders for under pronators and overpronators.

Outsole
